João E. Ferreira

Dr. João Eduardo Ferreira received his BSc degree in Physics from the University of São Paulo (1988); MSc (1991) and PhD (1996) in Computational Physics from the University of São Paulo; BSc in Pedagogy (1989) from the Federal University of São Carlos; and post-doctorate (2010) from the Georgia Institute of Technology, in Atlanta-USA. Currently, he is Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Science of the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of São Paulo. He is associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Services Computing and has participated in many program committees, including IEEE Web Services, WISE, ICSOC, ICWS, ICDE, IEEE Big Data, ENASE, and SBBD. Dr. Ferreira has published more than 100 articles in the fields of databases and e-Science, and his research has been supported by FAPESP, CNPq, CAPES, Brazilian Ministry of Health, and NIH (USA). His main research interests are: database integration; modeling, analysis, and implementation of process-aware information systems; data warehouse; data quality; asynchronous transactions; and information retrieval. He is a member of the Brazilian Computer Society, IEEE-CS, and ACM.

André L. Schwerz

André Luis Schwerz received the PhD degree from Institute of Mathematics and Statistics at University of São Paulo, Brazil, in 2016. Currently, he is a professor at the Federal University of Technology - Paraná (UTFPR), Brazil, working in the Department of Computing. His research interests are in services computing for data science and engineering.

Leonardo T. Kamaura

Graduated from the University of São Paulo with bachelor's degree in Computer Science in 2009. Works in the Computer Science field, with emphasis in Databases, Information Systems and Web development. He has experience with database modeling and implementation and a variety of programming languages such as Java, Ruby, Python, Perl, Javascript, ActionScript and VBScript. Currently, he is one the main developers of the SISAUT system, which is a Process-Aware Information System for medical scientific research that manages dependencies among processes in a complex domain.

Pedro L. Takecian

Pedro Losco Takecian received his PhD, MSc and BSc degrees from the Department of Computer Science at the University of São Paulo, Brazil. His previous work experiences include business process formal modeling, database modeling and finance industry software development. His research interests include transaction processing, business intelligence, data validation, integration of heterogeneous databases and their applications in health domain. Currently, he is working as a researcher and developer of the SISAUT system, which aims to facilitate data collection for autopsy-based studies.

Rafael L. Roberto

Rodrigo A. Lima

Rodrigo Alves Lima received his BSc and MSc degrees in Computer Science from the University of São Paulo. Currently, he is a PhD student at the Georgia Institute of Technology, advised by Prof. Calton Pu and co-advised by Prof. João E. Ferreira, working on workflow systems (temporal verification of workflows modeled with WED-flow) and experimental research in computer systems (performance benchmarks construction, execution, and reproduction; automatic detection and root cause analysis of performance bugs).
